Third EP of 2023, this is a more substantial 8 song mini album. This year has been one of highs and crushing lows, and it's titled Lost Summer because I have missed out on so much this year I normally take for granted. I decided to use a week off to finish a bunch of songs that I worked on this year which I like, before embarking on a new job.

"False Friends" is about how many friendships I've met over the years that have turned out to be short-lived as they tend to not be who they seem or go in a different direction in their lives. There seem to be a lot of those recently.

"Coasting/Screaming To Leave" is a stream of consciousness song about school that I have had on the backburner for a while. Hopefully the last one.

"Not The Only One" is an anthem for people who have also missed out on things in their lives. I find this to be a far more reassuring phrase than the typical "other people have it worse" garbage that supposedly well meaning people say.

"Half Alive" has been kicking around a few years, it has a double meaning. I'm in my 30s which is almost halfway through my life, and similarly, I don't feel fully alive because I haven't experienced all the things I wanted to by this point. The lyrics are a combination of different ideas I had but they make enough sense in the context.

"Wishing I Was There" is about missing out on things again. It's 'wanton beef' as in 'reckless aggression', not as in a Chinese dish.

"Pacific Wind" is your typical moody ambient ocean song of which I have many.

"Lost In The Dark" and "Lofty Dreams" are instrumental, though the former may get vocals at a later date.
